Aviation Institute of Maintenance
to Host YMCA Aviation Camp
Indianapolis, IN – June 28, 2005 – The West District YMCA Aviation Camp has planned an exciting field trip on Thursday, June 30th for 15-20 children to the Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM). The children will tour the facility where they will have the opportunity to observe students performing actual lab experiments on various aircraft engines and components.
The Aviation Institute of Maintenance Indianapolis is one of seven distinguished aviation maintenance schools nation-wide, with headquarters in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Through Aim’s FAA-approved program, students are prepared for a high-flying career in aviation maintenance. They learn the skills necessary to become successful in one of the world’s fastest growing industries. AIM graduates are there to meet the increasing demands of commercial, cargo, corporate and private aviation employers.
It is Aim’s goal to be an active member of the local community. The staff and faculty are excited for the opportunity to share a high-tech, hands-on and career oriented learning environment with the younger neighbors in the community. The YMCA Aviation Camp will have the opportunity to experience this atmosphere first hand and the thrill of seeing actual jet engines in an aviation maintenance setting.
