Avionics Technician Program
New program at our Atlanta Georgia School
Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) is taking another step forward providing cutting edge aviation technology training. AIM is pleased to announce the addition of a new “Avionics Technician Program” at our Atlanta, GA campus. This 5 month, 24 credit hour program is designed to train students for a fast-paced career in avionics. This field includes repairing and maintaining aircraft electricity and aviation electronics systems. “Avionics is the future of aviation maintenance,” says School Director Reggie Baker. “As aircraft become more computerized, it is essential that A&P mechanics master avionics. AIM is dedicated to providing our students with the most advanced skills in the aviation industry.”
AIM’s “Avionics Technician Program” combines classroom learning with practical application in the hangar. Students will learn how to fix and maintain the electronic side of modern aircraft systems. The program also prepares students to take the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) licensing exam. Upon graduation, our Avionics Technicians will be qualified for an entry-level position in exciting field of avionics and electronics.
“While an avionics certification is not yet an FAA requirement, it most likely will become one,” says Baker. This training could lead to a long and lucrative career. According to the U.S. Labor Department, the average national salary for an Avionics Technician is $46,630 a year!* The Bureau also states, “Opportunities for aircraft and avionics equipment mechanics and service technicians should be excellent for those who have completed aircraft mechanic training programs.”**
Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) has provided highly skilled aviation maintenance technicians to the aviation industry for more than a decade. AIM is a FAA-licensed institution headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA. AIM has eight campuses nationwide including Atlanta, GA; Indianapolis, IN; Kansas City, MO; Manassas, VA; Philadelphia, PA; Virginia Beach, VA; Dallas, TX, and Orlando, FL, as well as a broad national and international recruiting program.
Registration is going on now. Classes start October 30. To schedule a tour of AIM’s Atlanta school, or for more information about our new Avionics Technician Program, call School Director, Reggie Baker at (678) 377-5600.
