The Associate of Occupational Science Degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology program provides a graduate with the education and practical skills needed for a position in today’s aviation industry. The program will provide the student a foundation of general education courses, technical skills, and aircraft systems knowledge.
The Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to excel as an aircraft mechanic. This training prepares you to pass the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) test to become a certified Airframe and Powerplant Technician for employment in aviation maintenance.
The Aviation Maintenance Technician Avionics (AMTA) program prepares students for entry-level employment within the aircraft maintenance and avionics industry. Students learn the specialized skills necessary to work on structures, aircraft systems, flight and instrument controlled systems, electronic and digital systems, and become eligible and prepared for certification.
If you already have some training or experience in aircraft maintenance or electronics repair, Aviation Institute of Maintenance's Avionics Technician program is that perfect next step. The Avionics Technician program is designed to prepare you for career opportunities in aircraft electricity or aviation electronics systems, troubleshooting and repair.
The Maintenance Technician program draws from AIM’s core coursework in professional maintenance fields, introducing the student to electricity, surfaces and controls, transportation structures, power systems, hydraulics, and electrical control systems. The student is also guided in following process procedures, adequately documenting maintenance procedures within forms and records, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment, and developing as a maintenance professional.
The Combination Welding Diploma program offers many opportunities if you enjoy working with your hands, machines and metals. Hands-on training will allow you to develop the basic manipulative skills involved in welding and flame cutting, and classroom instruction covers welding theory, shop prints and blueprints and more.
The UAS Operator and Flight Training course will teach students basic and advanced airmanship skills with a focus on aerial photography with mission planning and execution that can be applied to agriculture, real estate, and infrastructure inspection jobs. Over two days, students will learn the basics of flight, preflight, mission planning techniques and progress to advanced/skilled maneuvers.
The Professional Aviation Maintenance Certification (PAMC) course is an advanced five week continuing education course for the experienced Aviation Maintenance professional. The course is designed to provide an intensive investigation of the range of technologies, aircraft functions, and maintenance responsibilities of the civilian aviation maintenance field. It is designed for students who have familiarity and experience with aviation maintenance through military or civilian experience, and who seek to transition to professional civilian certification in the field.
These courses are avocational in nature and are not included in ACCSC’s scope of accreditation – not Title IV eligible.
