Team Chesapeake – Support Cables Installed Right Wing [Photos]

The World War One Nieuport 24 aircraft Team Chesapeake is building at Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) in Chesapeake, Virginia is moving along towards completion. Last week some fabric covering was completed on one flight control. Now we have the right upper and lower wings secured to the fuselage along with all the support cables in place. It is starting to look like a real flyable aircraft. Some other items we accomplished this past week were finishing the contour of stringers on the left, side steam and bend the false rib caps. Here at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance, the students work on this aircraft and the certified Instructors help. This has been a student project since 2007 and we are all very excited here because it is getting close to completion. We all want to see it fly!
