Biplanes and Triplanes Airshow!

Here at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Chesapeake, Virginia, USA we had the opportunity to display our Nieuport 24 aircraft at a very special event this past week. This event was a Biplanes and Triplanes Airshow that was held at the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, Virginia on October 4-5, 2014. This World War One Airshow was top notch! There were many World War One aircraft flying, re-enactors galore, musical entertainment, steak dinner and even a hangar dance.

The pictures below show the amount of work it took to move our Nieuport 24 aircraft from our school to the Military Aviation Museum. The wings had to be removed and we placed the fuel/oil tank back in along with the Vickers gun, wheels, seat and instrument panel. Even though moving the aircraft set us back in making our completion date the reaction from everyone who saw it at the WW1 Airshow made it worthwhile. The general public never sees an aircraft in this stage of build which made our Nieuport 24 very unique for all! Please enjoy the pictures below and I also included the link to the Military Aviation Museum so you can see their pictures of the WW1 Airshow they have.
