Aviation career school students work on Sopwith Strutter

Progress on the Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter war aircraft project is a little slow this week. But work continues on the center section and wings. A lot of hand fitting of the parts to assure clearances between the airbrakes and the ribs of the center section. The aviation mechanic students continue to make progress on the wings. There are two new volunteers here at AIM Atlanta, Fabrizio Villa, and Shannon Kavanagh. The new students worked on making backing plates for the wing compression struts and drag / anti drag wire brackets for the ailerons. It is good to have new volunteers as many of our regular aviation maintenance technicians have graduated.  We hope to recruit more volunteers soon.
