AIM Chesapeake Instructor Wins ATEC Educator of the Year Award

nancy_jones2We’re proud to announce that Nancy Jones, an aviation instructor at AIM Chesapeake, has been selected by the Aviation Technician Education Council (ATEC) Board of Directors as the ATEC Ivan D. Livi Educator of the Year for 2014. This award recognizes the outstanding achievement of an aviation maintenance technology instructor.  This achievement can be in the form of a single event or long term outstanding performance. The selection criteria consisted of: initiative, creativity, attitude, performance, education, training, benefits and the direct impact the instructor has had on the aviation maintenance students.

More and more often- women are entering the aviation industry.

Many women come from families that usually expect them to go into what they think of as a traditionally female-dominated career: which more often than not turns out to be–health care.

Yet some women set their sites on other horizons. To these women, the sky is the limit. And when they look around at what’s available – more and more often- women are entering the aviation industry.
